Roi of the Week

A 2 pounder from Oahu's South Shore, poached in shoyu and ginger water, thrown on a salad, and topped with Mae Ploy sweet chili sauce and pepper.

  1. I am new to spearfishing, I was told Roi was dangerous to eat because of toxins. Do you have any way of testing for toxins, or is there ways that you prepare them to avoid this?

  2. There's not really a good way to test, nor is there a way to prepare them to avoid ciguatera, although it is rumored the head and belly areas contain more toxin.
